Bangalore Hosts The First Edition Of The IoT India Congress 2016

The first edition of India’s largest conclave on IoT,the IoT India Congress 2016, kick-started its three day congress yesterday at The Lalit, Bangalore. The IoT India Congress 2016 is India’s first completely integrated IoT platform that aims to bring together the key stakeholders across the value chain and verticals to collaborate, ideate and share a common road map for IoT implementation. Shri J S Deepak, Secretary, Ministry of Telecommunications, Government of India, inaugurated the Congress, which was followed by a message from Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Minister, Information Technology and Law & Justice.

The congress focuses to bring the IoT practitioners (hardware – devices, portables, sensors, software, business) and IoT enablers (regulatory, training, investors in IoT, end users) to work togetherand create a platform that is industry efficient as well as robust. The 3 day session focussing on 4 tracks including retail, healthcare, manufacturing and smart cities will have over 50 prominent speakers from across the industry along with Master Class sessions on Internet of Things designed by the authors of the path breaking book, “Enterprise IoT”. They will take step towards making the inevitable connected world more efficient, smart, innovative and safe.  Some of the speakers at the session include –

The event is co-organised by the IET and MCI and supported by The Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications & Information Technology, Government of India. Industrial Internet Consortium, Indian Electronics and Semiconductors Association (IESA), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (India) and Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) are Association Partners for the IoT India Congress 2016.Frost and Sullivan are the Knowledge Partners for the Congress.

The congress will also host the prestigious IoT Thought Leadership Awards,2016 and the IoT Start-Up Awards,2016 to identify and celebrate prolific leaders and businesses that are giving an impetus to the substantially thriving sector of the Internet of Things.The shortlisted start-ups will be recognised by Rita Teaotia, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry as part of the award nite taking place on September 8, 2016.
