Google announced the launch of Pixel, the first-ever phone made by Google. The Pixel is the first phone with the Google Assistant built right in, bringing together the best of Google’s software and world-class hardware and making the Google experience come to life. While everyone has been talking mostly about it’s price which is on the costlier side, here are a few things you need to know about the Pixel phones

Made to look good in your hands.

Pixel comes in two sizes, 5” or 5.5”, and is available in two colours — Quite Black and Very Silver. So you can choose the look that suits you best. Its curved edges make it easy to hold and smooth to touch. With an aerospace-grade aluminum unibody and smooth surfaces, the phone was made to look and feel good in your hands.

Ask it questions. Tell it to do things. Your Google Assistant is always ready to answer questions and help you get things done. Just say “Ok Google” or touch and hold the Home button to start. Try it out!

  2. Ask your Assistant for help finding a nearby cafe: Say, “Ok Google, where is the nearest cafe?”
  3. Then tap the mic and follow up with “remind me to leave for coffee with Gayatri at 7am”.

a. Open the Google Duo app.
b. Tap to start a call.
c. Select a contact who’s using Duo (or invite someone to use it).

Switching to your new Pixel is simple

Transfer your contacts, photos, videos, music,  iMessages® , SMS messages and more. Just connect your current phone to your new Pixel with the Quick Switch Adapter to transfer your content. Sign-in and select what you want to move over. That’s it!

Unlock fast with Pixel Imprint

Pixel Imprint uses your unique fingerprint to unlock the phone fast. And it’s on the back of your phone for quick access to all your apps, texts and emails. Once you’ve unlocked, just swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to see all your notifications. You’ll need to turn on Moves for this to work:

a. Open Settings.
b. Tap “Moves”.
c. Make sure the slider next to “Swipe for notifications” is in the “on” position.

A battery that lasts all day, and charges fast

A combination of hardware and software keep your Pixel going all day long. When you need a quick charge, you can get up to 7 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes. So you can always move at your speed.
