We find lots of new smartphone brands entering India. Mobiistar is one such smartphone brand which has recently entered India. Mobiistar is a Vietnamese brand which was founded in 2009 by Mr. Carl Ngo. According to the company, “the mission of Mobiistar is to expand the horizons of mobile technology adoption by providing affordable and uncompromised user experience for end consumers. The brand promise will be to ‘Enjoy More’ which is focused towards giving our consumers an opportunity to explore more possibilities.”
Mobiistar brings the first in line ‘Selfie Star series’ that will solve a major challenge in selection. The company has launched its new mobile Mobiistar XQ Dual. The XQ Dual comes with 5.5 inches FHD IPS 2.5D design, 13 MP rear camera and 13 MP + 8MP (wide angle) front camera. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core, 32 GB ROM and 3 GB RAM. Fingerprint sensor, a battery life of 3000 mAh and expandable storage of 128GB. The phone is priced at INR 7,999/-
Mobiistar XQ Dual comes in two variants – Gold and Black. The XQ dual comes in a full metal unibody design. We have the black variant of the smartphone. The design of the phone looks good and it is sturdy. It is good to hold in hands and fits comfortably. There is a golden line for the antenna which looks little odd in the smartphone. The back of the device has a 13MP single camera with f2.0 aperture. The fingerprint sensor is present below the camera and below that the smartphone branding is present. The branding of the Mobiistar looks bit odd as it is little big.
The front of the phone has the dual selfie camera with 13MP and 8MP wide angle camera. The company claims that the selfie camera is the best and calls the smartphone as Selfie Star. The volume button is present in the left side and the hybrid SIM slot and the power button is present on the right side of the smartphone. The speakers are present on the bottom with the micro USB slot.
We tried taking selfie with the smartphone as the company claims this as Selfie Star. The quality of the pictures were very good and it looks very natural.
The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch, full HD (1920×1080) display with sharp 2.5D curved glass screen. The display on the phone is vivid, offers great brightness and excellent viewing angles. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Octa-Core processor. The chipset comes with 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM. The device comes with 3000mAh non-removable lithium polymer battery. The device weighs 160 g. and is very compact in our hands.
Mobiistar XQ Dual runs on Android 7.1.2 out of the box with a few preinstalled apps in the smartphone. The fingerprint sensor in the XQ Dual unlocks the device rapidly and it is present at the right place in the back of the device.
Overall the smartphone looks promising with its sturdy back and camera. The device does not weigh that much with 3000mAh battery. More in the detailed review coming soon.
