Nokia 2.4 First Impressions: Solid Screen And Sturdy Battery In a Classy Build

Nokia 2.4

HMD Global, the new home of Nokia mobiles has been doing an admirable job of giving us a steady stream of devices that are brilliant value for money with great nordic design at their heart. The newly launched Nokia 2.4 is no exception to this. This time they have come with a device that has a great screen and a solid battery. Here are my first impressions of this device

Nokia 2.4 is a phone that will make you happy if you are someone who appreciates a large screen.  Watch, learn and create on the 6.5” HD+ full display – complete with a selfie notch to maximize your screen experience. The 6.5″HD+ screen is very crisp and clear. It will stand you in good stead if you love streaming videos or like to watch movies on your phone.

In case you are wondering if the large screen takes a lot of juice from the battery, fear not! Get up to 2 days out of Nokia 2.4 on a single charge. The 4500 mAh AI-assisted Adaptive Battery prioritizes power for the apps you use most – so you can keep doing what you love. I am very happy with the battery so far. We will look at it in detail in the full review coming soon.

One of my favorite things in a smartphone is a physical fingerprint sensor that is not hidden under the screen. Nokia 2.4 has an actual physical fingerprint sensor at the back, right below the camera in the center. The sensor is fast and reliable. Full marks here to the team.

Coming to the design of the phone, the nordic touch to the max in the Nokia 2.4. It is a straightforward slab design with polycarbonate back that has unique 3D Nano texture at the rear that makes it look very classy and premium. It feels good to grip. The color gradient also works very well. Nokia design has always been great.

Nokia 2.4 comes with a 6.2-inch HD+ IPS LCD display, having a screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. Further, it has a pixel density of 271 ppi and an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is designed with a bezel-less display having a waterdrop notch for holding the front camera.

It is loaded with all the basic features like Autofocus, ISO control, Continuous Shooting, HDR, Touch to Focus, Digital Zoom, Face Detection, and others. For the selfie camera, you will get a 5MP main sensor for your portraits.

Nokia 2.4 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset, clubbed with an octa-core Cortex A53 processor that runs at a clock speed of 2GHz. For the graphics, the device features a PowerVR GE8320 GPU, along with 3GB RAM for smooth gaming and multitasking.  It has a separate microSD bard slot and comes with 64 GB storage.

I took the phone for an initial whirl where I installed my SIM and all my social and work apps on it. Needless to say that the battery and screen seem to the two standout features so far. We will explore more in the full review that is coming soon.
