partnership

Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), the world’s largest IT infrastructure services provider, and Vitro, one of the largest glass producers in the world, announced a collaboration to accelerate Vitro’s digital transformation across its plants and offices. This agreement focuses on improving IT infrastructure manageability with agility, security, and resiliency to enable business growth, value and solution innovation to Vitro’s customers.

With more than 110 years of operations, Vitro produces, and sells glass products for several industries, including automotive glass, architectural glass, and glass containers for cosmetics and liqueurs. As a leading glass manufacturer, their products are part of the everyday life of millions of people across 34 countries worldwide.

Through the agreement, Kyndryl will serve as a key integrator to ensure quality delivery and best practices across Vitro’s technology providers, streamlining IT operations for greater efficiency, flexibility, transparency, and control. Kyndryl experts will enhance resiliency and deploy modern technologies and best practices across Vitro’s global operations to help the company accelerate new product development and innovation.

“This collaboration with Kyndryl confirms Vitro’s commitment to offer the highest level of quality service and cutting-edge innovation to our customers and the markets in which we participate. Kyndryl has become a partner of excellence to seamlessly integrate our IT operations and help Vitro succeed in this new digital era,” said Humberto Figueroa, CIO for Vitro.

Kyndryl’s experts designed a holistic, integrated IT approach to transform Vitro’s technology environment and its digital workplace. The project will include the cloud migration of business applications and the automated management of network and connectivity services, as well as security and resiliency services.

Additionally, help desk services will evolve to include automation and a self-service option for the nearly 16,000 Vitro employees globally. With that, employees will be able to use digital channels based on AI and machine learning to address IT-related problems by themselves before filing an incident.

“We are excited to embark on this evolution journey with Vitro and help them become more competitive, agile, and innovative. Vitro is living proof that technological innovation can drive real business value and provide a competitive edge, no matter the industry,” said Julio Heshiki, Managing Director, Kyndryl Mexico.
