Comio has recently lauched its new mobile phone the X1 Note in India. Comio is owned by Topwise Communications which is a Chinese device maker. Founded in 2005, TopWise Communication is one of the biggest ODMs in China, and is among top three printed circuit board (PCBA) manufacturers. Comio X1 Note comes with a 6 inch full high definition display and 2.5D curved display. The device comes with 13MP + 5 MP rear camera and has 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. Priced at INR 9,999/- Comio X1 Note looks sleek and good. The smartphone comes with 6 inch display and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

The smartphone comes in two colour variants – Royal Blue and Sunrise Gold. We received the sunrise gold colour for review. The back of the device is made of plastic and has a glossy finish. It is very shiny, thoroughly classy and attracts fingerprints. The rear of the smartphone has two cameras in a bigger circle and the fingerprint sensor is present just below. Below that is the branding of the smartphone. The front of the phone is white in colour and the bezels in the sides are minimal. On the left side of the phone is the volume rocker and on the right side it has SIM card and SD card slot and below that is the power button. The audio jack is present on the top while the micro USB slot is present on the middle of the bottom with speakers on the sides. The smartphone has height, width and thickness of 162.8 mm, 76.0 mm and 8.05 mm respectively.
Comio X1 note comes with a display resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels with a pixel density of 402 PPI and has a screen to body ratio of 18:9. The device has a screen size of 6 inches and it has a full high definition display. The display is very crisp and clear. The sides of the smartphone have very thin bezels while there is some space in the bottom. The colours are good and clear.
Comio X1 Note runs on Quad Core 1.45GHz processor with a chipset of MTK8735. MTK8735 is a mid-range ARM based chip set for smartphones. It offers a quad-core processor with four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 1.3 GHz. This SoC also integrates ARM MAli-T720MP2. MediaTek 8735 supports 6 mode LTE networks both FDD and TDD, HSPA+, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000 and EDGE. According to MediaTek this chipset is gives 20 percent more performance with 10 percent less power consumption.
We tried playing videos and games. the smartphone performs good with prolonged gaming. There was absolutely no sign of lag or stutter. The device was able to handle multi-tasking with ease and it runs cold with no significant signs of heating. Overall, given the price, this phone does pretty well on performance and load handling. Very practical in this department.
Going to the software part, Comio X1 Note comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and has a customized UI. There is a quick access key function present in lock screen which helps us to very easily use these functions. This is a thoughtful feature and no other competitor at this range seems to have it. The key functions present in the lock screen are recording, calculator, flashlight, timer and camera. We can also customize the on-screen navigation buttons and we can rearrange them as we need.
There are some interesting features in the calculator. The calculator has lots of useful functions. It has the usual calculator functions plus it has currency converter and units converter. It also has Font Application feature with access different stylish fonts and supported with 22 regional languages
Let us see the camera performance now. Comio X1 has dual camera in the rear with flash which consists of 13MP and 5MP camera and 5P lens. The camera has aperture of F2.2, 2.4 and aspect ratio of 4208 x 3120. The camera has features like pano, time-lapse, social, light trace and portrait. We tried taking pictures in different environment and lighting. The outdoor photos were quite good but sometimes it looks saturated. While the photos taken indoors are grainy and does not look good. The front camera has 8MP and the lens is of 3P and has an aperture of F2.4. The selfies taken were not at flagship levels but very practical and crisp. The camera supports 1080P video recording in the rear and 720P video recording in the front.

Comio X1 Note has a lithium polymer battery with a capacity of 2900mAh. The battery lasts for approximately a day. For testing, we tried a heavy mix of WiFi, 4G, social media, streaming and gaming. The battery stood up and performed very well here.
The memory capacity of Comio X1 Note is 3GB Ram and 32GB Rom which can be extended up to 128GB with the help of microSD card. The smartphone has two nano SIM slots and a slot separately for microSD card which is a good option for people who want to use two SIMs and want to use the extended storage.
Comio X1 Note supports GSM, WCDMA, FDD, TDD, 4G, VOLTE and ViLTE. It also supports Bluetooth and has OTG support. We tried calling with the mobile phone and the call quality was very good and clear.
Comio X1 Note consits of accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor unlocks the device in 0.15 seconds and can be used to pick calls, take pictures, access apps. Comio X1 note also has face unlock feature.
Overall, it is very clear that the COMIO team has worked on two aspects very well here. The first aspect is the fact that they have given a very premium design and feel to the phone and the second aspect is the fact that while looking good, the device does pack a serious punch for it’s price. This augurs very well for the brand. It is a budget phone that looks and works like a flagship. It will fare well against the Redmi phones that it competes with in the same price bracket.
Verdict
Comio X1 Note looks good and has good features. The display looks impressive and the camera is also good. The performance is good. Comio X1 Note looks decent with the price of INR 9,999/-. In summary, the Comio X1 Note looks great and works neat. Young people and upwardly mobile professionals will love the value that this phone brings to the table at a price point that makes it very accessible and practical.
